Postiz

The open-source social scheduler that your AI agent can drive too

Postiz is what happens when a developer gets tired of renting a social media tool and decides to give one away instead. The whole codebase sits on GitHub, free to run on your own server, and the hosted version is there for everyone who would rather not. Either way you get a calendar, a composer and one place to publish to an unusually long list of networks, from LinkedIn and X to Reddit, Discord, Mastodon and Bluesky.

Nevo David started building it in January 2024 and open-sourced it in September of that year. The launch landed: it went to number one of the day on Product Hunt and shot past 10,000 GitHub stars within a couple of months. He has run it as a bootstrapped solo founder ever since.

Where it shines

In early 2026 Postiz leaned hard into AI agents. Every hosted plan includes an MCP server, a CLI, a public API and webhooks, so tools like Claude or ChatGPT can draft and schedule posts while a human reviews everything on the shared calendar. That has made it a favourite among people building agent workflows, and it is a neat fit for small teams who want automation without giving up the final say.

For everyday posting there is an AI copilot for writing, an image editor, AI image and video allowances on the hosted plans, analytics and unlimited posts. Team plans add unlimited members for agencies and in-house teams.

The best way to start

If you like to tinker, spin up the self-hosted version with Docker and own the whole stack. If you would rather just post, start the 7-day trial on the hosted cloud, connect two or three channels and schedule a week of content. Then try asking your AI assistant to plan the next week through the MCP server and see the drafts appear on your calendar.

A scheduler you can own outright, with a front door for your AI agents built right in.
